Tu Ke

Tu Ke was born in Rong-An County of Guangxi Province in 1916. He lived a life in turmoil yet he remained resolute in following the part of pure art. He had traveled every corner of Guangxi Province, scaling mountains and crossing rivers to truly understand life in the province. He had painted a multitude of landscape pieces of places of historic interest and scenic beauty.  Mr. Tu Ke is also a studied Chinese painting tradition and merged it into the ink and strokes he drew into his paintings. His works sported bright, attractive colors and succinct brush strokes. The paintings appear sprightly and stark, and are rich in a sense of ethnicity. His works are now included in the archives of the Guangxi Museum, the National Art Museum of China and other art museums.
